Joy of Weaving 4 - Upscaled 2019
Joy of Weaving 4 - Upscaled 2019
Exhibition: Joy of Weaving - Upscaled, September 2019, Halle 6, Munich
Large-format, two- and three-dimensional weavings from discarded textiles are presented to the public for the first time.
All the work was created from material that I collected both on my travels and on site. I use exclusively discarded clothing and otherwise no longer usable textiles. In the exhibition, I give an overview of the work that has been done in this and last year. Based on the different objects you can also recognize the different techniques. As a link to my past work, I also exhibit “Axel”, a massive globe made of green garments from the year 2008, which was created as part of the performance of the Green Wash Leash.
Several works call for interaction, for example, there is a wheel of fortune and a fertility test.
